manufactured from hot-dipped aluminium coated steel for superior weather protection and finished with a high temperature black paint to keep your fire
looking its best. For your peace of mind, we have undertaken independent salt spray exposure testing on our exterior coating system to ensure they are
suitable for our NZ lifestyle and environment.
The weathering steel (Corten) firebox is engineered with structural ribs to prevent warping and finished with premium high temperature coatings. Being realistic about the extreme operating temperatures
within the firebox, the internal panels have been designed that the weathering steel will form a protective patina for a long operating life once the paint in the hottest areas of the firebox has gone.
Safe for Timber Decks
The Pique Ascent can be safely installed on a timber deck when placed on a hearth with our purpose-built insulated utility base. Rest assured knowing that our fires have been independently safety tested to AS/NZS2918 at Spectrum Labs in Auckland.
Air-Ridge Air Injection System
The Pique Air-Ridge system is designed to inject preheated air right where it is needed to superheat your coals for the ultimate in cooking experience and provides air where your fire needs it most for smokeless operation.
Innovative Smoke-Vent Technology
The patented Smoke-Vent Technology ensures that moments around the fire are enjoyed without unpleasant smoke. The Pique firebox is specially designed to maximise smoke extraction.
The technology works by positioning exhaust intakes at the firebox opening in locations where lazy (cold, heavy or dense) smoke escapes most outdoor fireplaces. These exhaust vents are connected to a cavity surrounding the primary flue. Heat from the inner flue warms the air in the outer Smoke-Vent cavity causing it to expand and rise. Using a phenomenon called the stack effect, this rising air creates a vacuum through the vents at the firebox opening which actively captures smoke which would otherwise escape the firebox in other open fire designs.
